Biography

About Richard

For many years, my wife Kim and I have called Wasaga Beach home. It is where we raised our three daughters, all of whom grew up here and are now pursuing post-secondary and post-graduate studies. Outside of public service, my love for cooking brings our family together around the holiday table, where our home serves as the central gathering place for family and friends.

Professionally, I am a well-known leader in the food manufacturing industry, a sector deeply connected to Canada's broader tourism and hospitality landscape. I bring proven business leadership, financial discipline, and strategic oversight to our Council table.

My commitment to our town goes beyond council chambers. As a member of the Wasaga Beach High School Task Force, I helped champion the advocacy needed to finally secure local secondary education. I have served on the River Resources Committee and volunteered with the Wasaga Beach Blues Festival. I've worked directly to protect our natural assets, support local tourism, and enhance community vibrancy. On Council, prioritizing healthcare access led to establishing our town's first walk-in clinic, while my safety initiatives continue to protect our busy streets and waterways.

Serving as your Councillor is a privilege. By bridging business experience, dedicated advocacy, and hands-on community involvement, I will continue building a safer, better-serviced, and thriving Wasaga Beach for every resident.

Why I'm Running

A shared commitment

You elected me to Town Council in October 2022 on a no-nonsense, residents-first platform. For too long, access to critical services like healthcare and education were subject to political games, leaving this community to suffer the consequences while politicians scored points. I believe that our track record over this past term clearly shows that I delivered on that mandate. Since then I have consistently championed the safety and security of our community, both on our roadways and across our beautiful waterways.

In this term, our Town Council has achieved historic milestones. By successfully securing more than $200 million in provincial investments, we have laid a strong foundation for Wasaga Beach's healthcare, education, and infrastructure needs. These achievements belong to all of us, and they have set a new provincial standard for effective municipal advocacy.

While these milestones represent a historic revitalization of our community, our work is not yet finished. I am seeking re-election because Wasaga Beach requires experienced leadership to finalize these investments and guarantee they become a lasting benefit for every resident.

I believe that true leadership is rooted in open communication and an unwavering respect for all the voices of our community. I look forward to engaging in robust, respectful council debates while always keeping the best interests of Wasaga Beach my top priority.

Re-elect Richard White and let's keep it going!
